Here it is, September already. For me, it’s a time to reflect on the last eight months as I look to finish strong in the last quarter of the year. I will share with you the highlights and lowlights of the year and hope to inspire you in your personal journey through this gift called life.
I’ll also share with you my new website and hope you will join me there as this one will go away in mid-September.
Finally, another opportunity to try different art styles in a FREE online retreat with one of my favorite people, Tamara LaPorte.
Highlights and Lowlights
An area that was both a highlight and a lowlight was my art. I focused much of my time on The Mastery Program. I had intended to complete the program and graduate in a year’s time. That did not happen. My year was up at the beginning of September and I’m eight paintings away from the minimum 25 required to apply for graduation. I had at least two months where I was challenged by a creative slump or was on the road. I decided to cut myself some slack and set a new goal to finish the program by the end of the year. My coach says to push yourself to just where you’re uncomfortable, but also recognize life events can get in the way. Luckily the program, even though it’s designed such that you could complete it in a year, does not have a strict guideline for graduating in a year.
I lost people in my life this year – my older brother and a good friend Howie. I traveled north for my brother’s funeral and arrived back in Phoenix just in time to see the Rolling Stones concert for our anniversary – 25 years of wedded bliss.

The summer brought more travel, and I was able to connect with a local winery to display my art. I have sold two paintings so far and have an artist’s reception this week. I am humbled by the number of people from my hometown who have made plans to attend and support me.

New Website
I shared a link last week to a website I had created on Squarespace. I have decided to abandon that one and go with a website on Wix Studio. I felt it was better to start from scratch and brand myself as an artist rather than having so many different names attached to my previous site. Here’s the link:
Check it out and give me feedback. It’s still a work in progress and has me spending way too much time on the computer instead of at the easel. Also, please subscribe to the newsletter by filling out this form you will see at the bottom of the website. That way you will see my ongoing blogs and any updates.

Takeaways
The autumn of the year brings changes and finds me in a pensive mood. I’m frequently overwhelmed and distracted. I’m trying to keep focused and on track with my new goals for the remander of the year.
Thank you for sticking with me and please subscribe to my newslletter as this current site will most likely go away before the end of September.
